"What do you photograph?" - "That's always the first question everyone asks when they find out you're a photographer, I find it tricky but always answer 'Portraits' which usually satisfies. It's a hard question though, because it's similar to someone asking "What do you eat?" It's accepted that with food we'll eat a broad range to satisfy our taste palette. But when it comes to a visual palette in the UK we're expected to specialize in one area and dedicate purely to it. Now I love a steak but I can't eat them 24/7. As such my visual appetite varies depending on mood, inspiration, ideas and timescale.

"So what's your main area of interest at the moment?" - Currently and for some time now the core of my work has been built around people. I'm fascinated by who we are, the constructs of us, social influences, layering etc and trying to capture and portray this in visuals. I also love nature's naturally occurring patterns over time, corrosion, erosion etc. It's good fun hunting them out and then multi-layering them with people. You can draw your own parallels! But next week I may want to shoot road signs. You just never know. That's the beauty and freedom of photography.
